Kingsdown Pre-School

Kingsdown Pre-School is based in Kingsdown Village Hall, with sessions taking place each weekday morning. The Pre-School first opened its doors in the 1970s and continues to provide a safe, welcoming environment for local children where learning takes place through play. Kingsdown Pre School Logo

The Pre-School offers a rich play environment, where children can explore and experiment without fear of failure and gives the children access to the early learning goals, assessing their development on a regular basis. Close links with the Kingsdown & Ringwould CoE Primary School helps to ensure a smooth transition for those children that go on to the village’s primary school.

Kingsdown & Ringwould WI is one of the 118 WIs in East Kent. It has a membership of 41 and meets every 2 nd Monday each month (except August) in either Kingsdown or Ringwould Village Halls at 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

Members enjoy talks and demonstrations on a variety of interesting subjects and frequently join in outings and events arranged by the East Kent Federation Sub-committees.

In addition to the monthly meetings members meet in small groups at each others houses to pursue common interest. Be it, for just a social get-together, sharing a project or a coffee morning to raise funds for WI or another Charity.

the WI - inspiring women

Members collect Yorkshire Tea Tokens for a ‘planting trees’ project to support the environment, collect foreign coins towards the refurbishment of Canterbury Cathedral, knit squares to be made up into blankets for disaster areas and knit teddies for tragedy.

WI membership is open to women of all ages from 15 to whenever, so if you would like to learn more about the organisation come as a visitor to one the monthly meetings and you will be made most welcome.
